Baracoa

Baracoa's historic city center is the first village founded in Cuba by the Spanish in 1511 and is recognized as the first capital and district of the country. 

 

In Baracoa, you will appreciate the exquisite conjugation of colonial features and beautiful natural landscapes.

There are several cultural interest points in and around Baracoa, including art galleries, as well as a rich nightlife filled with traditional Cuban music and dance as well as wonderful, authentic restaurants in the town.  Be sure to visit the Church of Lady of Assumption in the center of Baracoa to view the Cross of  Columbus.
